Labia Wing Lift®

Labia Wing Lift Women's Sexual Health

The Labia Wing Lift rejuvenates a woman’s intimate area, essentially lifting the labia (wings) to produce a more youthful appearance. This lifting is made possible by a combination of platelet rich plasma (PRP) derived from your own blood and hyaluronic acid.

What it treats at a glance:

Volume loss or skin laxity to the labia area (labia atrophy)

It’s safe to say most women want to look their best. While thousands of dollars are spent each year on countless products and procedures to achieve this goal, all too often, the vaginal area is overlooked. A lot of women consider this a sensitive subject and are even embarrassed to talk about it. At Transformative Dermatology in Franklin, TN, we think vaginal rejuvenation is just as important as caring for your face or any other area of the body. That’s why we offer the Labia Wing Lift – to help women bring back a more youthful appearance to her intimate area.

Here’s how the Labia Wing Lift works.

Platelet rich plasma (PRP) is derived from your own blood and injected into the labia along with hyaluronic acid. The growth factors and proteins released by the high concentration of platelets in PRP activate stem cells that stimulate cellular repair and regeneration in the area. Collagen production is boosted and new blood vessels start to form, which helps repair the tissue. With the help of the hyaluronic acid, you’ll experience more volume and a more “lifted” appearance in the labia area.

Who is a likely candidate for the Labia Wing Lift?

Women 25-70 who have mild to moderate sagging of the labia and want a more natural, pinker skin tone around their vaginal opening may want to consider this treatment.

What can I expect before, during, and after treatment?

We know it might sound a little scary at first, but the procedure is actually quick, painless, and nonsurgical. Dermatologist Jill Fichtel, M.D., begins by numbing the vagina and performing a nerve block to eliminate any discomfort during the procedure. She then draws a small amount of blood from your arm and extracts the PRP, which is mixed with a hyaluronic acid. This mixture is injected into the labia majora with an injection cannula, which helps make the procedure virtually pain-free. If for any reason you feel anxious about the procedure, we supply Pro-Nox™ (commonly called “laughing gas”) and the Alpha-Stim® device to ensure maximum comfort.

How long does the procedure take?

It takes approximately 90 minutes per treatment. That includes the prep time, blood draw, relaxation, and reinjection.

Are there any potential side effects? Does the procedure hurt?

Some potential side effects may include mild redness, bruising, some swelling, soreness, and infection. With the topical numbing and nerve block, the procedure is virtually pain-free. If you still experience any discomfort or anxiety, however, we’ll be glad to provide Pro-Nox and/or the Alpha-Stim device to make sure you’re completely at ease. We urge our patient to let us know if there is any abnormal swelling or signs of infection.

What kind of results can I expect?

There is an almost immediate plumping action that helps smooth the labia for a more youthful look. The PRP then spurs a tissue-building response in the treated area for a longer-lasting effect. You’ll notice the effects of the procedure improve over the course of the next two to three months and last up for one to two years.

Are there any risks involved?

In addition to the side effects listed above, there is also the potential for an allergic reaction to the hyaluronic acid filler. Dr. Jill will discuss the procedure in detail with you to make sure your risk is low.

How much does the Labia Wing Lift cost?

Every patient is different. During your appointment, Dr. Jill will discuss with you your desired results and map out a treatment path and cost best suited for your individual needs.
