CoolSculpting Fat Freezing

CoolSculpting is the only FDA-approved medical device (Food and Drug Administration) capable of destroying the adipocytes (fat cells) that are forming the adipose tissue and are located under the skin. The CoolSculpting treatment performs the elimination of fat by the use of non-invasive controlled cooling. We offer this innovative system to help patients who feel dissatisfied with their bodies, specifically those with localized fat.

How does it work? What effect does it have on the body?

CoolSculpting is a treatment in which the device works at low temperatures because several studies have shown that fat cells are more vulnerable to the cooling effect than other adjacent tissues, and therefore can be eliminated by cold without damaging the skin.

Fat cells, when exposed to non-invasive controlled cooling enter apoptosis or natural death sequence and the body gradually eliminates them as part of the normal metabolic process (phagocytosis) and will be eliminated by the lymphatic system. Thus, CoolSculpting decreases localized fat by around 30% in the treated areas during the weeks after treatment.

This technique has revolutionized the treatment of localized fat since for the first time it is possible to eliminate fat in an easy way for the patient, it is cataloged as a non-surgical, non-invasive procedure and promotes the elimination of fat cells. In a single session, we can eliminate around 40% of the accumulation of fat. The technique has already evolved allowing a greater elimination of fat, in more areas and in less time, and the treatment can be repeated as many times as necessary. In patients with localized fat and realistic expectations, very satisfactory results are achieved.

What can I expect with CoolSculpting?

The results are progressive for each session performed, being able to see optimal results between the first 3 weeks and the most dramatic results will be evidenced in the first to the third month of treatment, everything depends on the patient’s body fat percentage.

It is important to indicate to the patient that when performing the aesthetic procedure with CoolSculpting, the body will naturally remove the adipocytes treated by cooling for approximately 4 months after treatment because they are eliminated through the lymphatic system. The results vary according to the patient and in some, it may take up to 4 months to become visible.

How does the treatment feel?

The treatment with CoolSculpting is very tolerable since the area is “asleep” due to the cold. The skin may be a little cold and parchment-like for about 30 minutes after treatment.

Is there any downtime after the treatment?

There is no recovery time after treatment. You can return to your normal activity immediately and practice sports the next day.

The satisfaction of patients is very high. In our experience, to achieve the best results it is important to carry out a complete diagnosis of each patient to define a personalized plan of action. Although obese people can use it to solve problems in a certain area.

These effects are temporary and usually resolve in days or weeks.

During the treatment you may feel intense cold, tingling, stinging, pain and cramping. These sensations diminish as the area becomes numb.

Immediately after treatment. There may be redness and firmness of the treated area and hyperpigmented areas (white or dark) or mild bruising around the edges of the treatment area.

One or two weeks after treatment. Redness, bruising and swelling that gradually improve with the days can be evidenced.
